Sundancing to the music
The Sundance Resort is introducing a new series of jazz concerts called "Sundance Under the Stars," beginning July 12 at 8 p.m. at Sundance's Outdoor Stage. Tickets are $25.
Grammy-nominated pianist Judy Carmichael, called one of the world's leading interpreters of stride piano and swing, performs Saturday, July 12.
On July 19, Stephan Moccio (pianist, composer, arranger) performs. He co-wrote Celine Dion's 2002 hit "A New Day Has Come," which was No. 1 on the adult contemporary chart for 21 weeks.
On July 26, the Utah Jazz All Stars perform. This band includes local percussionist Jay Lawrence and saxophonist David Halliday (who worked on ABC's NBA theme music).

In addition, the Bluebird Cafe at Sundance continues its music series, on Thursdays at Zoom and Friday nights at the Outdoor Stage at Sundance. This year's lineup:
