Innovative way to play piano better
Christie Peery, one of the world's best-known piano instructors (and founder of the Peery Piano Academy) will open the most advanced video-based online piano instruction method in the world today. Partnered with music-instruction company ArtistWorks, Inc., this site (www.PeeryPiano.com) couples cutting-edge video exchange technology with Peery's conservatory curriculum.
Students video themselves playing the lesson, submit their video, and Ms. Peery critiques and grades the student's submission in a high-quality response video or a written assessment shown on the site.
Ms. Peery says, "My students get direct, personal feedback from me through video exchanges online. We've created a tremendous breakthrough for teaching piano to children by video online." The site is structured on the disciplined study heritage of Liszt, Beethoven and Bach. Students, even the youngest at 5 years old, are in a conservatory teaching environment. The system takes students from the very beginning lessons on posture and fingering to the most advanced conservatory audition, competition and recital playing. The site also features a full range of social networking tools that foster a worldwide online network and resource for students and parents of piano students of all ages."
A student of Leon Fleisher and Dmitri Boshkirov, Peery has performed extensively through the United States, Europe, Russia and Canada, recorded "Passion at Two Pianos" with Dr. Irene Peery Fox and has been teaching since her early teens. She matriculated at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University; and studied with Leon Fleisher making her Carnegie Hall debut at age 18. She has won numerous international piano competitions and appeared as a soloist with many symphonies.
