Your remedy tonight
Brothers Rich and Chris Robinson are working together again and recently released the album “Before the Frost …,” which was accompanied with a download code to receive the companion album, “… Until the Freeze.”
The rootsy band has been a regular on rock radio since the early 1990s with hits such as “Remedy,” “Jealous Again,” “She Talks to Angels” and “Hard to Handle.” For the latest albums, guitarist and co-songwriter Rich Robinson said in an interview the The Black Crowes “always try to have a different approach to every album,” so this time the band assembled in Levon Helm’s Barn in Woodstock to record the new material last winter.
Band members have come and gone, but Robinson said the current incarnation of the band is the “best” it’s been. “We’re all on the same page,” he said. In addition, for the first time, he wrote some lyrics for the new songs and brother Chris has been playing guitar. “We still tug at each other,” Robinson admitted about their sometimes-frosty relationship.
