Fallout from concert postponement
Each of the following is a comment about the postponed Elton John/Billy Joel concert by readers on our Web site, www.sltrib.com
As you can see, some are still bitter about the Dave Matthews Band's two straight years of scheduling shows in Utah and then canceling them outright:
Good! Joel is probably in a bottle somewhere and Elton's best work was over 20 years ago. These guys hanging on for a check is sad.
Bummer! Of course there is no other notice. Lesson to be learned. Buy your tickets from scalpers, the day of performance. We have had our tickets for months. Still looking forward to a rocking good time in February plus a Jazz game on my birthday.
It's "good" that they rescheduled a show that you wouldn't even attend?
Sooo happy that there is a Jazz ticket included in the postponed concert! We were really disappointed with Dave Matthews Concert cancelled, and no apology, no valid excuse. Thank you Energy Solutions making us happier customers...seriously ,we were going to boycott concerts here in Utah all together, but this has made us rethink our actions....
DMB canceled because Dave's voice was stressed. He decided to rest if before the three day stint at the Gorge. Bummer, but I got every penny back and got to keep 4 beautiful tickets that match the album cover.
I'd like to see them -but I'd probably have to sell my car to pay for the tickets. How much are tickets going for?
Sir Elton John can still put on an EXCELLENT concert! Now his is music. All of these Rap/Cyrus/Spears etc. they are not music... thier Noise...
To those who have your tickets... He's worth every penny... . ;)
I saw them together the first time around years ago in CA and it was a fantastic concert. Both have great songs that span many years of most of our lives and it's great to see them together.
With that being said, ESA is not the best acoustic venue (yes, that's an understatement) and would be better served as a multi-night concert at the Rose Wagner Center or something like that. If you buy tickets, try to get as close as you can afford. In this case, both for visual and audio effect, it will be worth it.
First Elton was sick. Now Billy.
You'd better go see them while they're still alive. Is AARP the main sponsor for the show?
