Friday's Scrimmage Most Significant
BYU's annual Blue-White spring game is on April 12, but this Friday's scrimmage on alumni day will be longer and more meaningful.

BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said he expects to run about 50 plays on Friday, "which will probably be the most significant scrimmage of the spring, probably moreso than the spring game in terms of quality players getting the most number of snaps."

Mendenhall said BYU has spent much of the spring rotating players and giving everyone enough chances to show what they can do. He anticipates the final week being more about putting the right players together at the same time, starting to work more on precision and solidifying the two-deep roster.

Next week, BYU will hold practices on Tuesday and Thursday with Thursday being a non-padded session and "more of a recovery-type day of polish and correction and organizing the spring game," Mendenhall said.

But the Cougars will have a "limited spring game," and "I don't intend to go for a long time," Mendenhall said.
