The Cougars and Warriors were rivals when they were both members of the Western Athletic Conference, but have not played since 2002.
The teams will meet in Provo in 2012 (Sept. 8) and in 2013 (Sept. 14) at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.
"Playing BYU has always been a thrill for our fans as well as our coaches and players," Donovan said. "I'm very pleased we were able to work out an agreement and continue this friendly rivalry."
BYU leads the overall series 19-8.
The Cougars' nonconference schedule in 2012 is now complete and includes Washington, Utah State, Boise State and Hawaii.

Jay, will the Cougars be able to schedule a 13th game the year they play in Hawaii?
Weak! Two WAC teams and USU! We need another BCS conference team!
I don't like us scheduling Hawaii.
What are we doing? It is never a pretty game in Hawaii. BYU game within a yard of losing the national championship there in 1984, Ty Detmer's Heisman win was blemished by getting whooped in Hawaii the same day he received the trophy and who could forget the 2001 thumping BYU took in Hawaii after going 12-0 and making such a stink about not being included in the BCS bowls? I HATE playing Hawaii in Hawaii . . . it is always a battle, it is always late at night and winning there usually means very little. (And only one BCS team kills our chances at any national consideration.) Bad choice.
