The Cougars and Sooners, who will play in the BCS National Championship Game on Thursday night, will meet on Sept. 5 at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium being built in Arlington, Texas.
It will be the first college football game played in the new stadium. The Labor Day weekend game will be played in prime time and will be televised by ABC or ESPN as part of the second annual ESPN Kickoff Week.
BYU's other nonconference opponents in 2009 wlll be Florida State, Tulane and Utah State. The Mountain West Conference schedule has not been released.
"We are excited about our nonconference schedule for next season," BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said. "There were several teams involved in making things work out and we appreciate all those who worked hard to make it happen. The home schedule should be one of the best in school history. In addition to perennial football power Florida State, fans will enjoy home games with in-state rivals Utah and Utah State as well as TCU, Colorado State and Air Force in conference."
After facing Oklahoma, BYU will play at Tulane in New Orleans on Sept. 12. ESPN or ESPN2 will televise that game.
The Cougars' home opener will be against Florida State on Sept. 19. BYU will play host to Utah State on Oct. 2.

What happened to the ASU game? Why is BYU giving up a game against a 5-7 PAC 10 team with a new QB in a neighboring state to play a 2-10 C-USA team halfway across the country? Is the Tulane game a 2 for deal?
ASU wanted badly to get out of the game.
Also, I believe that BYU is not interested in playing in PAC-10 venues until their officiating policy is revised.
I'm not sure if any compensation was involved, but I'm not surprised the game is off the schedule.
Pray that Sam Bradford goes pro...
The ASU game was traded for the Oklahoma game. I'm sure they didn't want too many big games in a row before conference play started. We've got Oklahoma and FSU...and Tulane isn't half bad.
I'm looking forward to making the trip out to Utah (my first visit to the state) for the game on Sept 19th. Ought to be a really good game and a great chance to check out what Utah has to offer.
My plans are to fly into SLC and stay in Provo. Do the hotels around there fill up pretty quick during football season? Definitely going to book ahead of time, but how far in advance is my question.
Thanks for any advise.
Go Noles,
Adam
