Jordan Muir and Chad Nacapoy paced BYU's baseball team to a 15-12 victory over UNLV at Larry H. Miller Field.
Jordan Muir came up with his 10th save of the season, moving him to fifth place on the all-time MWC list of single-season saves and breaking the BYU record of nine set by Ryan Hancock in 1992. Jared Miller picked up the win.
Nacapoy picked up five RBI, two of which came from a two-run homer.
The teams resume the series tonight at Miller Field.

BYU's softball team also used the long ball in a 6-3 win over New Mexico on Thursday night.
Jessica Purcell drove in all six runs for the Cougars, who improved to 38-15 overall and 11-1 in MWC play.
Purcell hit a grand slam and a two-run homer in the MWC game.
BYU's center fielder Angeline Quiocho, and catcher Coreen Lopez both had two hits, and Monica Gonzales, Krista Hicks and Tiffany Messerschmidt each had one hit.
BYU takes the field again tonight against Colorado State.
