Indications strong that Heaps on his way to BYU
Just got through compiling some statistical information for the newspaper on Jake Heaps, and thought I would pass it along.

Yes, we are sure that the rising senior whom Scout.com calls the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the nation is heading to BYU.

Here's the story on the Tribune Web site saying as much.

Now, the wait is on to find out where the announcement will be made.

One rumor out there is that it will be held at the TGI Fridays restaurant near LaVell Edwards Stadium around 2 p.m.

I called the manager of said eatery, and he said that was news to him.

So we will see, I guess.

Anyway, here's what Heaps did as a junior at Skyline High in Sammamish, Wash.:

Completed 203 of 312 passes for 3,103 yards and 31 touchdowns with four interceptions. Rushed for seven touchdowns.

Here are his two-year totals: Completed 405 of 648 passes for 6,104 yards and 69 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. Rushed for 21 touchdowns.
