Afo becomes BYU's 25th commitment.
The Web site reported that Afo's uncle, Ian Wiley, said Afo committed to BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall last Friday.
Reached Monday, Cottonwood coach Cecil Thomas said he has not seen Afo in at least six weeks and could not verify the commitment.
Thomas said Afo injured his back in the spring, and as of six weeks ago was not cleared by doctors to play this season for the Colts.
"He's a good [player], but I doubt he will play a down for us this year," Thomas said.

What? No press conference at a bar?
Isn't in weird that the only comment on Jay Drew's BYU blog is a BIG UTE ZERO. How sad all the Ute fans have to look forward to is what happens at BYU. I notice that a lot on Harmon's BYU blogs also. I guess they also are from BIG UTE ZERO.
No, no press conference. But, if he pulls a Brent Casteel and claims the Heisman for himself, we'll be sure to call one.
I want to make it clear that when Cottonwood coach Cecil Thomas told me that Afo will probably not play a down for Cottonwood this year, it was because of the injury.
His not playing this year has nothing to do with Afo choosing BYU.

At least Brent Casteel has been to two bcs games.
Will he be cleared to play for BYU or okay to play? Those injuries can be serious
