Get your credit report for free
Don't confuse any of the countless credit repair Web sites with the real thing. There's only one place to go to get a free copy of your credit report — www.annualcreditreport.com. There are three main credit bureas nationally, and each one is required under law to provide you with one free copy each year. One way to do this is to order one free report from a different bureau every four months. For more information, go to the Federal Trade Commission's Web site, http://www.ftc.gov/freereports.
