And the winner is ...
Nancy Taylor has won the Playstation 2 game and book in my first blog giveaway. Congratulations, Nancy!
Her family is trying to save money this month by trying not to spend any money other than paying their bills and filling their cars with gasoline.
Money-saving suggestions from other readers include planting a vegetable garden each year, buying groceries with coupons when they are on sale, bringing a home lunch to the office, shopping end of the season clearance sales and capitalizing on Wal-Mart's ad-matching policy, among others. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed ideas.
I'm already scouring the newsroom for something to give away next. Stay tuned!
