 The Internal Revenue Service says it has 1,140 refund checks worth nearly $1 million for Utah taxpayers. The checks, which were returned to the IRS due to mailing address errors. Some taxpayers are due more than one check.

While most checks mailed out by the IRS each year reach their rightful owner, a small percentage are returned as undeliverable. If you think you are due a refund check, update your address with the “Where’s My Refund?” tool on IRS.gov. The tool also enables taxpayers to check the status of their refunds. Taxpayers also may check on the status of a refund over the phone by calling 1-800-829-1954.
