Double coupons are back
August 16th, 2009
After a week off, Albertsons is once again offering double coupons. But as usual, you must have special coupons from the newspaper to get the offer, and it's limited to only three double coupons per transaction. I'm glad this offer has returned, but it seems real wimpy after the unlimited double coupon promotion Smith's had for three days earlier this month.
Smith's, by the way, is offering through Tuesday a free loaf of bread, a free 2-liter bottle of store-brand soda and a free bag of Dole salad when you spend a minimum of $25. (You need the coupons from the "A" section of the Sunday newspaper to get this offer.)
I have been badgering the folks at Smith's, hoping to find out if they are going to offer double coupons again. As soon as I get any information, I'll be sure to post it here.

Living Planet Aquarium discount
August 14th, 2009
I get a lot of inquiries about discount offers to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. Unfortunately there aren't many.
But on the first Monday of every month, admission to this fun facility is half price from 5-7 p.m. Also, I tell anyone who plans to go several times a year to look into a one-year membership, which runs $16 for adults and $12 for children. Admission is normally $8 for adults and $6 for children 3-17 years of age. Children 2 and younger are free. For more information about the facility and admission, go here.

You could also wait for the museum's next free admission day. That's the first Monday of every month, or Sept. 7. Check out the museum's "Free Family Mondays" promotion here. Even though school is in session by then, you can always take the kids after school or work. The museum is open until 8 p.m. on those Mondays.
And don't forget, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts has free admission on the first Wednesday of each month.

Free Home Depot clinics
August 14th, 2009
Children can make a fun bean bag toss game at Home Depot on Saturday, Sept. 5. Since these free clinics fill up so fast nowadays, I'm posting them much earlier than I used to. Call your nearest Home Depot store for more information about these clinics, or to get your child on the sign-up list.
By the way, Home Depot has clinics for adults as well. Go here for more information about those.
