Target deals this week
November 11th, 2009
There's a Super Target store that's on my way to work, so I'm always stopping by to get some great deal or something for free. Lately I have been enjoying Target's small specialty bread loaves for free with a Target store coupon. (Print out this or any current Target coupon you want here. The 99-cent Archer Farms bread loaves in the bakery are free with the $1 off one Archer Farms product coupon.) This week, I'm going to check out the free (or almost free!) baby wipes. Read the blog entries here, here and here from MoneySavingMom.com before you go.
Coinstar deal
November 11th, 2009

Have you seen the Coinstar machines in supermarkets and other locations, but didn't want to pay a fee to get your coins counted? You can get your coins counted for free when you load the value of the coins onto gift cards good at a number of major retailers. Check out the program here. Each year around the holidays, though, Coinstar offers an even better deal. Through Dec. 26, change $40 in coins into a gift certificate good at a number of major retailers, and you'll get an extra $10. That's a 25 percent bonus! Read more about this deal here. Every year, our family hauls a jar of coins to the machine to take advantage of this great offer. Thanks to ThatWentWell.net for the alert that the deal has already started!
Voluntary Simplicity class
November 11th, 2009

Here's a great class for anyone trying to make their life more simple and meaningful. Utah State University Salt Lake County Extension is offering a “Principles of Voluntary Simplicity” class on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2100 S. State Street, South Building Rooms S1007/1008.
What is voluntary simplicity? I've seen a number of different definitions. To me, voluntary simplicity means, among other things, being happy with what you have and realizing that a ton of cool expensive stuff isn't going to make you exponentially happier than you are now.
No registration is required for this class; participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

$5 off $5 at Kohl's
November 8th, 2009Here's an older offer from Kohl's some may not know about: Save $5 on any $5 purchase made in-store. I signed up a while ago and used it to buy a toy that cost $5.99, driving down the cost to 99 cents.
While I'm on the subject of older offers, here's another one of my favorites — a free coffee sample from Dunkin Donuts. Enjoy!
Cheap eats at IKEA
November 7th, 2009

Don't forget, you can enjoy a Swedish meatball platter at IKEA — normally priced at $4.29 — for only $1 through Tuesday, Nov. 10. That's 10 meatballs and a pile of mashed potatoes. If you don't find this appealing, there's always the $1.99 all-you-can-eat spaghetti and marinara meal on Mondays. Ikea has a store in Draper.
