The $9 million cookie jar has so far been used mostly as a piggy bank for the Leavitts, their business ventures and their genealogical research. The details were reported Friday and Saturday, and the family's justification was set out in more detail Saturday.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also weighed in with an editorial Monday. They didn't buy the Leavitts' justifications, either, and brought up the previous story, reported both there and here, about Leavitt's use of an airplane leased by the Centers for Disease Control for his administrative and political jaunts about the country. The CDC is of particular concern to the AJ-C because that federal office in HQed in Atlanta.
