Into the Mist
A new restaurant called Mist will open on Sept. 4 inside the Rikka Event Center at 526 Ute Boulevard in Kimball Junction.

But don't wait to visit because ten days later, on Sept. 13, this unique dining experience will -- as its name suggests -- evaporate.

Gavin Baker, the executive chef at Talisker, an exclusive residential development in Park City, is likely the first to attempt this kind of "guerrilla" restaurant in Utah.

Popular in the United Kingdom — and now in some U.S. cities — guerrilla restaurants are set up in makeshift structures and given finite lifespans. Most are underground events that people learn about only by word of mouth.

The temporary restaurant offers chefs a chance to flex some creative muscle while diners revel in their exclusive nature. At Mist, for example, just 20 people will be served each night.

Each lucky guest will pay $250 to enjoy a 1o-course meal prepared by Baker with wine pairings. Call 435-649-6445 for reservations.
