State plates

The "Discover America Road Tour" sponsored by IHOP restaurants will be in Salt Lake City Aug. 16-18, promoting the restaurant's 50th anniversary and its nine state-themed pancakes.

The flavors include Louisiana Bananas Foster, Oregon Mixed Berry and Washington Apple Crisp. Read about them  here

Utah isn't one of the featured pancake states. But if it was, what flavor would we be?

Honey, a tie to our Beehive symbol, was my first thought and sounds appetizing, too.

Salt water taffy was my next idea. Although, as I look out at the shrinking Great Salt Lake that may not be a good option.

Or, maybe, IHOP could offer the first savory pancake filled with bison from Utah's Antelope Island? Hmmmm. Maybe not.

 Any other suggestions?
