What's Next for Nixon

She was top four on "The Next Food Network Star" and she picked up the show's "fan favorite" vote. So what is next for Utah's Kelsey Nixon?

The Brigham Young University graduate has five different cooking show ideas, including one for children, that her agent has been shopping around to production companies.

Under her contract, if another channel wants to go ahead with one of the shows, The Food Network gets first right of refusal or can match the offer.

"It's a win-win," Nixon said in a telephone interview. " But this is an exhausting industry and it's going to take a while."

There also are possible sponsorship and magazine opportunities in the works, she said.

In December, after her husband completes his advertising degree at BYU, the couple will move to New York City.

Until then, Nixon is teaching cooking classes at various Utah locations, working as a private chef and catering parties.
