Fall fruit harvest
The second annual apple harvest at Huber Grove in Wasatch Mountain State Park is a way to enjoy the fall colors and get some pesticide-free mountain-grown apples.

From Sept. 19 through 27, Utahns can pick several varieties of apples for eating out of hand or making applesauce and ciders.

Extension poles and bags are available at the visitor center. Tree climbing is not allowed due to the age of the trees. Each bag of apples you pick will cost $3.

The trip also offers a bit of a Utah history lesson.

Huber Grove is a 130-year old homestead, built and settled by Johannes Huber and his family. The farmhouse and creamery are still on the grounds, along with part of the family's original apple orchard, which once numbered more than 22,000 trees.
