The bottle is back
Milk in glass bottles is back!

Utah's Winder Farms is making this classic option available to its delivery customers for $3.49 for a half-gallon, plus a $1.50 bottle deposit which is credited to customer accounts when the reusable bottles are returned.

For nearly 80 years, Winder Farms delivered milk in glass bottles. But in 1985 the company, along with many other dairies around the country, switched to plastic.

Then, for its 125th anniversary, Winder delivered commemorative bottles of chocolate milk and eggnog in glass bottles. Customers liked the containers and asked that it become a permanent option,  said Mike Winder, Vice President for Sales.

Some people say milk in glass bottles taste better, probably because it is a harder surface and keeps the milk from getting funny fridge flavors.

But we like it for the nostalgia factor. Plus, glass bottles reduce waste. They are reused 40 to 60 times before being retired.

Cool! Winder's milk is the best anyway, now they have a container (again) worthy of that great product! Thanks for letting us know, Kathy.
