Mama's Plantation is relocating
A deadly shooting this summer in front of Mama's Southern Plantation has taken a toll on the locally-owned restaurant named after Rosemary "Mama" Cosby, pictured here.

Oct. 24 was the last day of business at 1394 S. West Temple, the restaurant's home since 1997. (It had two previous locations.) It will "reopen soon" at 4908 S. Redwood Road, said spokesperson Liz Palmer.

The new restaurant will serve the same "soul food" menu including deep fried catfish and barbecue, promised Palmer, but it will seat more customers. Check back for an official opening date.
