No McDreamy today
I went to the KJZZ-TV studios on Tuesday for the weekly taping of the locally-produced show "Cooking Delight." I was hoping to get a glimpse of a local, or Hollywood, celebrity.

For those who haven't seen the show, each 30-minute episode has a celebrity guest who helps the host, Ogden's Jennifer Burns, prepare an original recipe. The cooking is followed by a live performance from a local musician.

The whole show is taped in front of a studio audience making the 90-minute taping "a party in the kitchen," said Burns, pictured here with recent guest Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. (To attend a free weekly taping go to this website.)

Since the show began three months ago, Burns has had some impressive celebrity guests including country singer Colin Ray and Olympic athlete Summer Sanders.

On Tuesday, I thought I hit the super-star jackpot, when Burns said actor Patrick Dempsey, of "Grey's Anatomy" fame, was the guest.

Unfortunately, McDreamy wasn't in the studio. Burns had interviewed him several weeks ago when he was at the Miller Motorsports Park.

It wasn't a huge disappointment. Burns and the crew taped lead-ins for the Dempsey interviews and prepared food that paid homage to the actor's home state of Maine (and his baby blues): New England baked apples and vanilla French toast with blueberry syrup.

Cooking Delight airs Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. on KJZZ-TV. Look for the Patrick Dempsey episode on Oct. 18.
