Distinguished Dining
Kudos to Utah restaurant owner Karen Olson who recently became vice chair for DiRoNa: the Distinguished Restaurants of North America.

Olson, pictured here, is the owner of Metropolitan and is active in promoting downtown dining, namely as co-chair of Salt Lake City's Downtown Dine O' Round.

Metropolitan is one of just four Utah restaurants to earn the DiRoNa distinction. The others are Log Haven, up Millcreek Canyon, and Grappa Italian Restaurant and Riverhorse on Main, both in Park City. To date, fewer than 800 restaurants worldwide have earned the honor.

To be eligible, restaurants must be in operation, under the same owner for a minimum of three years and pass a rigorous, anonymous inspection that looks at every aspect of the dining experience including food, wine, service, physical property and décor.
