Good-bye elephants
Those nostalgic "Circus Animal Cookies" are no more.

According to this article in the San Francisco Chronicle the 92-year-old Mother's Cookies abruptly closed its doors this week, seeking bankruptcy protection. Rising prices for ingredients and fuel costs are to blame.

There's not need to panic. The pink and white iced cookies as well as the company's popular iced oatmeal raisin cookies will probably be available for at least a few more weeks (or maybe months) until the current supply is gone. And the seasonal Christmas variety, picture here, are probably still plentiful.

Still, I'm not taking any chances. I'll be stocking up this weekend on a bag, or two.

I was worried about your post so I googled it and found that Kelloggs has decided to purchase the brand and bring back the most popular cookies.
