Catching Up With Kelsey
We should be seeing more of Kelsey Nixon, the Utah native who finished fourth in the 2008 season of "The Next Food Network Star."

In April, the bubbly blond will co-host a "web show" on cooking basics. She is paired with an unlikely partner, Spike Mendelsohn from "Top Chef." She does the by-the-book classics, while he uses unique ingredients. The show will be a part of F2 a new website being launched by The Food Network.

Nixon also has been tapped to be the official spokesperson for Pyrex and its new line of bake ware, cookware and utensils.

When I talked to her last week, Nixon said she weighing two different jobs in New York City, one of which is in the test kitchen for Martha Stewart — her culinary idol.

Kathy Stephenson has been the food writer at The Tribune since 2000. Prior to that she covered education and was a general assignment reporter for Utah's largest daily newspaper. A Utah native, Stephenson's first job was picking zucchini on her grandparent's Kaysville farm. Every Christmas, Stephenson's neighbors and colleagues look forward to getting a plate of her baklava. Last year, she gave away nearly 300 pieces.
