FDA says don't eat raw alfalfa sprouts
The federal government has asked consumers to stop eating raw alfalfa sprouts, including sprout blends that contain alfalfa sprouts, because the product may be contaminated with a strain of salmonella.

Since mid-March, there have been 31 cases in six states -- including Utah — of salmonella contamination, according to The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Most of those who became ill reported eating raw alfalfa sprouts either in restaurants or purchased at grocery stores.
