Food on Film in May

During May, The Salt Lake City Film Center and Slow Food Utah are bringing four food-related films to Utah.

All the movies are free and begin at 7 p.m. They will be shown at the Fort Douglas Post Theater on the University of Utah campus.

The series starts May 7 with "What's on Your Plate," which follows two 11-year-old African-American girls as they explore their place in the New York City food chain.

May 14, watch "Dirt! The Movie," which tells the story of the glorious and unappreciated material beneath our feet.

May 21 it's "End of the Line," Based on the book by award-winning journalist Charles Clover, the film discusses the simple solutions for solving the world's overfishing problem.

The series wraps up May 27 with "Food Inc.," which exposes the "underbelly" of the country's highly mechanized food system.
