Boston has won four in a row and moved ahead of Memphis in the race for worst record and best odds in the draft lottery.
This happens every spring, of course,
Teams far from contention must battle the urge to lose on purpose in order to improve their possibilities in draft.
We'll see plenty of it as this season winds down, too.
At this point, however, you have to give Boston and coach Doc Rivers a lot of credit for rebounding from their horrendous 18-game losing streak and upholding the integrity of the game, even if it ends up costing the Celtics ping-pong balls in the lottery.
Speaking of the draft, I have to chuckle when Ohio State freshman Greg Oden talks about staying in school.
I don't doubt Oden when he says heís enjoying his college basketball experience.
By all accounts, he is an intelligent, thoughtful young man who likes attending class and values his education.
Call him Michael Doleac, with a little more upside.
Still, I have to believe that Oden will declare for the draft and, with apologies to Texas' Kevin Durant, end up being the No. 1 pick.
If I recall, Oden's mother was upset when the rule that prohibited high school players from jumping directly to the NBA was put in place just before her son would have been eligible to do so.
I can't imagine she has changed her mind.
Oden also knows that every year he stays at Ohio State beyond this season will be costing him millions of dollars.
That's a lot of green, no matter how much a guy likes studying history, political science or whatever the major-of-choice is these days for Ohio State student-athletes.
As far as being the No. 1 pick over Durant, Oden shouldnít worry.
I know all about the Sam Bowie-Michael Jordan draft, but that doesnít mean any current NBA general manager is going to pass on the kind of player who comes along once every 20 years for one who comes along every 10.

Ok this is getting out of control. Please, Mr. Luhm, take some writing classes or something. Paragraphs are your friend. The least you can do is ask Mr. Miller for some tips.
