Araujo's plans
Rafael Araujo's agent, Jim McDowell, sent out this e-mail Friday in explaining Araujo's plans of playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue for the Jazz even though he is an unrestricted free agent who has not signed with any team.

Thank you for your patience regarding my getting back to you regarding Rafael. He is driving to Utah this morning to participate in the Summer League beginning next week. Physicals are Sunday and the team begins play on Friday. Araujo will be playing for the Utah team but we have no agreement with the Jazz as of yet.

Thus far we have had several conversations with Kevin O'Connor and the discussions have been pretty positive regarding Araujo. I think the Derek Fisher situation, understandably, has the Jazz front office re-evaluating their free agency plans, so that will take a little time to play itself out. But as we have said before, Rafael would like to return to the Jazz and to play a more significant role on the team in the 2007-2008 season and beyond. O'Connor said that we would continue to talk during the Summer League sessions, and that Araujo will get considerable playing time in those games.

Rafael has generated what seems to be sincere interest from several teams, and preliminary interest from some others around the league. The interested teams have indicated they will use the Summer League action to get a closer look at Araujo, and we'll continue our discussions with them during this period. I'll keep you up to date on any progress being made towards a signing. We'll be in touch.
