Five things you didn't know about Kyle Korver
You spend two days in a guy's hometown and you learn some pretty interesting things. Here's five things you probably didn't know about Kyle Korver to go with our stories in Thursday's paper:
5. Kyle grew up on the same street in Pella, Iowa, as Killers guitarist Dave Keuning. It's a source of amusement whenever he has to play a Killers song in "Guitar Hero."
4. The backyard court where Kyle honed his three-point shot is in the shadow of the Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The Kovers have lived next door to the funeral home for 15 years.
3. The tradition of giving kids the initials 'K.K.' in the family is set to continue. Kyle's cousin Klint said he and his wife have already called dibs on Karson if they someday have a son.
2. As a Christmas present one year for his dad, Kyle researched the family name. It turns out Korver is Dutch for "basket maker," which they all agreed couldn't be more fitting.

The next day at practice, Kyle had to sit and watch while his teammates ran sprints as punishment for that column . His prediction came true, though, as Pella didn't lose a game in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
