The Revue roster is in, C.J. Miles is out
The Jazz announced their summer-league roster Friday evening, which for the second consecutive year was more remarkable for C.J. Miles' absence than for any of the 17 players who will be on the team.

Miles once again is a restricted free agent with a one-year qualifying offer to return but without a multiyear contract. His agent no doubt looks at the deal Chris Duhon got in New York and sees the millions Miles could sign for.

The question is where that deal is going to come for Miles. One source said he believed Miles had met with Oklahoma City. There are undoubtedly teams interested in the 21-year-old but deterred by the fact the Jazz can match any offer for Miles.

In the meantime, the Jazz scratch their heads and ask why Miles won't play when he's got $1.2 million guaranteed through the qualifying offer for this season, which amounts to a 25 percent raise from what Miles made last season.

The Jazz won't argue with Miles' decision, but they don't want to see a repeat of last year, when Miles reported to training camp, struggled throughout the preseason and looked like a player who hadn't seen much game action over the summer.

We'll see what happens. The most surprising name, meanwhile, on the Jazz's Revue roster belonged to Yaroslav Korolev, a 21-year-old forward from Russia who was a lottery pick of the L.A. Clippers in 2005.

Korolev, who was drafted ahead of Sean May and Rashad McCants, played in 34 games over two years with the Clippers. He was waived before last season and wound up playing with Dynamo Moscow.

Korolev didn't develop as quickly as expected and the Clippers didn't exercise the third-year option in his rookie contract. They looked to re-sign him last summer, but Korolev became expendable after Elton Brand ruptured his Achilles tendon.

The Jazz's Revue roster also includes two former training camp invitees (Hiram Fuller and Kevin Lyde) as well as former Utah Ute forward Britton Johnsen. Fuller and Johnsen both have seen brief NBA action.

In addition, Kevin Kruger and Brian Jackson from the D-League's Utah Flash will play for the Jazz. Kruger and Jackson are two players the Flash plan on protecting if they decide to return to the D-League for another season.

The rest of the roster includes Tyrone Brazelton (Western Kentucky), Earl Calloway (Indiana), Russell Carter (Notre Dame), Mike Efevberha (Cal State Northridge), Brian Greene (Colorado State), Leemire Goldwire (Charlotte), Rickey Paulding (Missouri) and Haminn Quaintance (Kent State).
