UFC 75 . . . a few more things
The truth, I'm embarrassed by my picks.

Scott wins this round, barely.

Did Rampage do what he needed to do to win? Yes, but that match killed me. I am a huge fan of both fighters and I would have been disappointed no matter who won. Congrats to Rampage and don't think that Henderson is finished. If Hendo decides to attack the 185 division then I honestly think he cleans the proverbial roost. And in a rematch with Quinton, which I don't believe will ever happen, I would still pick Henderson

Boxing Uber-officials Jate Nadie and Duane Ford once told me that the job of the judges is to essentially decide "who just got their [buts] kicked." It's a simple rule of thumb when judging a fight. In the 10-9 judging system, used by the UFC in all of their shows, you make that assessment at the end of each round. So, will somebody tell me how Bisping out scored Hammil?

Hammil won the first round, with ease. Bisping took the second, he may have struggled at times but he did win. And the third round was admittedly close but did Bisping do more Damage than Hamill? Who controlled the cage, pushing forward to engage more often? Who was the aggressor on the ground? If you said “Bisping” then you need to watch the fight again and this time do it while sober.

The Hamill/Bisping fight proved, once again, that the UFC categorically refuses to use judges with any realistic knowledge of the different disciplines involved in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Cecil Peoples, while a legend in the world of Karate, knows little to nothing about MMA and should never be allowed to judge another fight. His decisions are consistently tainted and he demonstrates his ignorance of MMA with almost every new fight that he judges.

Now, how about Houston Alexander? I honestly believed his hubris concerning ground-fighting / Jiu-Jitsu was going to get him hurt, and perhaps it still will, but the man throws some of the heaviest strikes I have ever seen. Absolutely incredible. I'm a fan.

Did anybody see CroCop last night? I'm starting to think that the UFC hired a double because the Croation fighter we saw last night was night the rolling ball of destruction that razed fighter after fighter in PrideFC. Kongo brought all of his tools to the party and deserves the accolades he will receive after beating CroCop. I really think Marcus Davis has found his MMA groove over the last few months. Against Paul Taylor he showed greatly improved striking, a very good ground game, and most importantly, the heart and the resolve that allowed him to recover from a near shellacking and establish a strong guard before moving into and finishing the arm bar. It was a great fight and Davis deserved the bonus for having the submission of the night.
