Pull in between the ads
Today's rant begins with an exchange from "Futurama"
Leela: "Didn't you have ads in the 20th century?"
Fry: "Well sure, but not in our dreams! Only on tv and radio...and in magazines...and movies. And at ball games, on buses, and milk cartons, and t-shirts, and bananas, and written on the sky. But not in dreams! No sirree."
A new entry in the list of everyday items subverted to advertising space: the stripes in the parking lot.
Patrons of the Megaplex 12 at the Gateway - as well as anyone shopping or working at the Gateway (like the Tribune staff) - this week noticed the stripes in the parking garage now boast reflective tape with advertising for Nationwide Auto Insurance. The stripes are from a Colorado company, Parking Stripe Advertising.

Someone has been putting those advertising stripes on parking lots without permission. They recently hit the Smiths on Ft Union and 900 E, employees were out front removing hundreds about 3 weeks ago.
