Trolley fades out
The Trolley Square Cinemas have closed two of their four screens - and the other two will go dark at the end of the month.

The Regency Theatres chain took over the fourplex at Trolley Square on Christmas 2004, after a 10-month stint by the ambitious (but ultimately failed) Madstone chain. Before that, it was part of the Loews Cineplex chain.

That's sad news. This was another place to go to see independent/small films. Counting these four screens, up til now SLC had eleven screens (including the Broadway and Tower) that showed small films, which has to be one of the highest counts in the U.S., considering the population. Too bad. I suppose there's no chance of the screens coming back with a new owner....
