Twitter: The Movie
OK, it's not a movie about the micro-blogging web phenomenon Twitter - but rather a movie that adapts Twitter's shorter-is-better ethos to film.
Irish filmmaker Frank Kelly is trying to recruit 140 filmmakers from around the world, and have each of them shoot 140 seconds of footage at the exact same time. Kelly will then edit the footage together into a movie.
"It's about connection, which is what the internet and Twitter is all about - real connection to people's lives as it happens, not something that is edited together later in a blog," Kelly writes on his blog explaining the project, titled "140." (The number refers to the maximum number of characters one can include in a Twitter post, a k a "tweet.")
Kelly aims to do the shoot on June 21, so he's scrambling to find filmmakers. According to his blog, Kelly has 51 filmmakers signed up - including a Utah directing-producing duo, Ryan Little and Adam Abel ("Forever Strong," "Saints & Soldiers").
