OHV group upset about Washington County bill
The Blue Ribbon Coalition, a pro off-highway vehicle organization, is mounting a campaign against the Omnibus Public Lands Act which recently passed the U.S. Senate and includes the Washington County Growth and Conservation Act which would designate over 250,000 acres of wilderness in southwestern Utah.
The group is upset that the Canaan Mountain Sawmill Road will be closed to OHV use under the proposal and is worried that the Washington County bill includes a new closure section as well as mandating the Bureau of Land Management to conduct travel planning in the area.
