UEP board
There were several posts about the town hall meeting last Friday in Centennial Park that claimed the UEP advisory board has been dissolved.

I asked Bruce Wisan about it. Here is his response:

''Pure garbage. Your FLDS contacts are really letting you down.''

Why hasn't the advisory board had any FLDS members? Shouldn't there at least be proportional representation?

Ziggy - Don't you recall the, "Answer Them Nuthin'" Policy?
Why don't you get off the FLDS sect members and give them more time. It's taken years to reach this point.

Crap

I hate it when I agree with Ztg. It just seems like if Wisan had really tried he could have found maybe a couple of FLDS folks willing to be on the advisory board.

I know about the "Answer them Nothing" stuff but it still seems that some folks would have stepped forward.

On the other hand

All of the folks dancing with glee over the overthrow of the "puppets" must be having a large dish of crow pie tonight.

Someone told me sour cream goes well with crow....

Wisan is "pure garbage".

Someone should take the garbage out.

Well maybe now that it is no longer "answer them nothing" Wisan can find a few, or the FLDS can suggest a few and a balanced board can be formed. That might be nice.

Ron, did you notice me not saying anything? We'll dance with glee when the 'wrong' is 'righted'!

The state worked to get all those trustees on that board. It is not so simple for Shirtless to just dump them.

I have no idea why anyone would think the board just magically could be dissolved or who was "dancing with glee" anyway.

All it takes is one Federal judge.

Nice try Wizey; you're full of horsepuckey. Brooke, now go ask the same question to the ex-board members or other "more knowledgeable" persons.

Here's a copy of the email I received regarding last Friday’s meeting for those of us non-FLDS who may have a beneficiary interest concerning the UEP:

"Could you send a notice to your mailing list about the meeting this Friday at 6:00 p.m (Centennial Park Community Center)? Jerold Jensen from the Utah AG’s office will be there, along with Bruce Wisan. The purpose of the meeting is to get input from anyone who has any future interest in the UEP. That should include ALL residents of Centennial Park, since they are considered potential trust participants under the revised trust. The FLDS people are doing a good job representing their interests to the AG’s office, but there has not been a forum for non-FLDS to make their interests known. This meeting is a vital step in that process. As you know, Judge Lindberg has called for a “stand down” period to give all parties a chance to come up with ideas for a “global resolution” for the trust. This is an important meeting, and we need everyone to attend. So, we’ve got to spread the word far and wide. I appreciate your help."

Now if someone wants to correct me on my recap here, I am all for it. The original UEP trustee board and its beneficiaries was changed after the split in the twin cities back in 1984, then again when WSJ came in power and that board was the one dissolved when the State of UT took control of the trust. In its place, an advisory board was created from applicants that applied to be on this new board. It was encouraged that all those that may have a beneficiary interest in the UEP apply, hence FLDS and non-FLDS. When the list of applicants was published in the Tribune, there weren’t any applicants from the FLDS because they were supposedly told not to associate with apostates and/or gentiles. So why is everyone else to blame for the choice the FLDS members made back then? And why is it that non-FLDS who may have a beneficiary interest in the UEP (whether of the original or reformed boards) cannot have their voice in the matter? The challenges of the UEP affect all those descendants of all the different boards created over the years.

NOPE, the only change was one Trustee resigned. Mr J.M. Hammon.

"...then again when WSJ came in power"

Nope, it was amended three years before he became the leader. It was changed to clarify its purpose after the many years of lawsuits and the supposed ambiguity therein. One Trustee was added in 1998, Warren Steed Jeffs.

"...and that board was the one dissolved when the State of UT took control of the trust."

Yes, that is true.

"there weren’t any applicants from the FLDS because they were supposedly told not to associate with apostates and/or gentiles."

Actually the trustees were all FLDS until the takeover by the state. Then Bruce Wisan SUED the former trustees who were FLDS. Would you volunteer to be SUED?

"And why is it that non-FLDS who may have a beneficiary interest in the UEP (whether of the original or reformed boards) cannot have their voice in the matter?"

Prior to the lawsuits, there was only one beneficiary; The FLDS church. The purpose of the Trust was to create unity within the church, the reason for the trust was to keep apostates and gentiles from picking apart the unity of the people. There has been no other reason the Trust existed. And since you live there, you should already know that.
