Off and Running
Salt Lake City Prosecutor Sim Gill has hired seasoned political strategist Jim Gonzales, partner in the Target Group, to coordinate his campaign for the Democratic nomination to become Salt Lake County District Attorney.

Gonzales has coordinated numerous Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City campaigns for Democratic candidates and has been a 20-year crusader for a meaningful hate crimes bill in Utah. He also was a consultant for the coalition put together by Envirocare to fight a ballot initiative that would have imposed restrictions and raised taxes on hazardous waste storage companies.

James Seaman, who was a campaign field coordinator for Democratic Congressman Jim Matheson, will be the campaign manager for Gill.

Gonzales said his mission is to help Gill through the next several weeks to help him win the Democratic nomination. There is speculation that Gill will have a Democratic opponent in Salt Lake City attorney Greg Skordas, who ran for attorney general last year, but Skordas has not announced whether he will run or not.

Cheers,
Paul Rolly
