Republicans Having Fun
Here are a few tidbits from the golf tournament at Thanksgiving Point Thursday that the Utah Republican Party sponsored as a fund-raiser.
* Rep. Steve Mascaro, who has teamed with Democratic Rep. Pat Jones on education funding reform bills, including unsuccessful attempts to reduce tax deductions for people with large families, golfed alone.
* Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert had a video camera operator follow him around the golf course, apparently to memorialize himself. He handed out golf balls autographed by him.
* Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. didn't set foot on the golf course, but came to the buffet indoors later that evening. It was easy to pick out Huntsman and his aides. They all wore dark suits and shiny black shoes while the rest of the group mingled in their golf shirts and Bermuda shorts.
