Christensen gave up his seat in the Utah House to run against Democratic 2nd Congressional District Rep. Jim Matheson for a chance to serve in the U.S. House.
The Republicans then dutifully found a suitable replacement for Christensen, with Sylvia Andersen eventually winning the GOP nomination and subsequent general election to represent District 48 in the Utah House.
Christensen, as you know, lost the election to Matheson, even though he repeatedly reminded voters how imperative it was to have a Republican representative because the Republicans are the only ones who understand The Way.
Now it appears that Christensen believes it's not just any Republican that the people need. It's him.
Christensen was seen in the halls of the Legislature last week drumming up support from his former colleagues for an apparent attempt to run against Andersen, his fellow Republican, and win back his old seat in the Legislature.
If he indeed runs against Andersen, it will be interesting to see how his campaign takes form against her. When he was running against former Democratic Rep. Trisha Beck in that district a few years ago, residents received fliers stressing the importance of having an LDS priesthood holder as their representative. Beck is an active Mormon, as is Christensen, but women can't hold the priesthood. Which, of course, would be the case with Andersen, no matter how loyal of a Republican she is.
Cheers,
Paul Rolly

Lavar Christensen certainly is back, and stating that he's an "exhaustive speaker" is a very polite way of saying that he's a motor-mouth who talks and talks and says absolutely nothing! Furthermore, Lavar was in the Utah House and did absolutely nothing about illegal immigration, an issue first and formost on the minds of most of his constituents. Any of the District 48 constituents who vote for Lavar Christensen because he's a priesthood holder should get on their knees and pray for descernment, because they really don't have any of it!
