The Three Amigos

Who said things are contentious at the Utah State Legislature?

Who said there are groups frequenting Capitol Hill that are suspicious of each other?

Who said Gayle Ruzicka is homophobic?

Just look at this picture of three lobbyists having a good time over dinner together the last night of the Legislature. Obviously, they are all fond of each other.

The woman on your right is Gayle Ruzicka, head of the conservative and moral crusading Eagle Forum of Utah which, among other things, has fought for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and worked to get gay clubs out of Utah High Schools.

The person in the center is Stuart Merrill, a gay activist who has AIDS and who provided the picture.

And the person on your left is Sandra Lucas, a French Scientologist, which doesn't seem to have a lot of significance other than the fact that Scientologists don't believe in the science of psychiatry, so she might be there to thwart any attempt at analyzing why Gayle Ruzicka and Stuart Merrill seem to like each other so much.

Cheers,
Paul Rolly
