Gov. Huntsman's some Fund-Raiser Shown the Door?
This is turning out to be a pretty lousy year for political operative and Republican fund-raiser Max Farbman, who earned his stripes as an event organizer and money collector for former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt.

Farbman was dropped recently as the contracted fund-raiser for the Utah Republican Party. GOP Chair Enid Greene took the step the same day she fired the party's executive director, Jeff Hartley. At the time, she indicated she wanted to go a different direction in fund-raising and had been disappointed in the recent effort.

Now, it looks like Farbman won't be the go-to guy in fund-raising for Gov.Jon Huntsman Jr. either.

Huntsman had a fund-raiser in Utah County Thursday night and by most accounts from GOP insiders, there was some disappointment from the Huntsman team. Sources say the governor will go in a new direction for future fund-raisers. "Max Farbman has been hired on an event-by-event basis by the Governor's Special Projects Office," said Mike Mower of the Governor's Office. "We will be evaluating how we organize events going foward."

Mower wouldn't elaborate on that statement. But sources close to the governor say Huntsman will be looking at more options in the future.

Cheers,
Paul Rolly
