It's a Bird ...
You've heard of Air Jordan, and you've heard of Air America.

Now, we've got Air Kem.

Salt Lake City developer Kem Gardner, a friend of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is chartering a Jet Blue air liner later this month to take 150 Utahns to Boston to participate in a marathon fund-raising effort on Romney's behalf.

Gardner, who will spend more than $100,000 to charter the plane, says that is not part of the campaign and it is not a campaign donation. He is acting as a travel agent to help people get to Boston and is asking each traveler to pay $200 for the flight and commit to raising $5,000.

It's all for an event planned by the Romney campaign in which supporters from around the country are invited to participate in a barbecue on the playing field of Fenway Park the night of June 24, then take part in a telephone barrage from the Boston Garden on June 25. They will be expected to call friends and acquaintances and
secure pledges fot the campaign.

Romney hopes to raise $5 million for his campaign on that day.

Cheers,
Paul Rolly
