Not Sharing the Wealth
Some Utah Republicans are grumbling that so-called conservative, Republican-backed organizations seem more interested in their own agendas than supporting the greater GOP.
With Vice President Dick Cheney in Salt Lake City to meet with the super-secretive conservative organization, the Council for National Policy, local Republicans wonder why he can't take a moment to use his considerable clout in Utah to raise some money for the party.
He is not doing that, preferring to meet in secret with the council, which is holding a conference in Salt Lake City this weekend.
"If he just took an extra hour while he is here and held a little round-table discussion or meet and greet as a fund-raiser, he could raise a minimum of $25,000 for the party here," said one prominent Utah Republican.
Just think, if Cheney would bother to raise a little money for the party, it could afford to buy its own parade float rather than be forced to have Republican legislative leaders strong-arm education officials to build them one.

Cheers,
Paul Rolly
