Easier to Understand
Like any good lobbying organization, the Utah League of Credit Unions takes its turn providing free gifts or entertainment to Utah legislators, who, of course, are never influenced by that sort of thing.
So on Dec. 21, the league is hosting Credit Union Movie Night, renting out a theater at the Gateway and inviting legislators and their families to see the new movie: "National Treasure: Book of Secrets."
In keeping with the theme of the movie, organizers sent one invitation including a pair of cardboard 3-D glasses used to break a code. The second envelope came with what looks like garbled printing, which actually gives the date, time and place of the event.
The only way the recipient can read it is by putting on the glasses.
Appropriately, for the Utah State Legislature, they are rose-colored glasses.
