Lee is Out, Shurtleff is In (Mostly)
Conservative Republican Mike Lee has ended speculation that he will challenge Sen. Bob Bennett for the GOP nomination next year by telling acquaintances he has opted out of the race.

Lee, former chief counsel to Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., was seen as a young, conservative up-and-comer similar to Jason Chaffetz, also a former Huntsman staffer, who upset six-term incumbent Chris Cannon in the Republican primary last year.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Mark Shurtleff says he is 99 percent in the race against Bennett for the Republican nod. Shurtleff is going to Israel with Huntsman this week and says he will make an announcement when he returns next week.
Cheers,
Paul Rolly

Mike Lee is a bright guy and a fine lawyer. He'll be a strong contribution wherever he decides to serve.
