A Twist on the Stimulus Package
When Utah Congressman Rob Bishop spoke to the faithful at the State Republican Convention Saturday, he was true to the task with the obligatory Barack Obama bashing.
While playing to the anti-Obama crowd, Bishop wailed that under the Democratic administration, spending has gotten out of control, with increased funding for everything except the military.
"We're spending like drunken sailors," he lamented to his much admiring listeners, "except for the military."
Then the punch line: "We need to spend more on drunken sailors."
That could be a new tag line to promote Utah's liquor law reform efforts.
