Pine View: 25th season; 17th playoff appearance (14-16); no championships; last title game: 2005; championship game record: 0-3 (lost in 1994, 2004, 2005).
Pine View is in the title game for the third time in four seasons after missing the playoffs last year. The Panthers have won 13 games for first time ever (best previous was 12 in 2004 and 2005).
Timpview: 31st season; 27th playoff appearance (44-21); 5 championships (1986, 1991, 1997, 2004, 2006); last title game: 2006; championship game record: 5-1 (lost in 1996).
The Thunderbirds are also in their third title game in four seasons, and seventh final overall. Timpview is trying to be the first team to win back-to-back titles since Bear River in 2003 and 2004.
Timpview is riding a school record 22-game winning streak over two seasons, and with a win, would tie for the fifth longest streak in state history, just five shy of the state record of 28 held by Rich (1994-97) and the longest since Bear River won 23 straight from 2003-05.
The state championship would mark a couple more milestones for T-birds: an undefeated season and a 13-win season for the first time ever. Timpview has started 12-0 once before, in 2002, but lost to Lone Peak in the semifinals.
Since 2000, eight seasons, Timpview has six double-digit-win seasons and has compiled an 85-13 (.867) record, tops in the state over that time in both winning percentage and victories. Over that same period, Pine View is 74-19 (.796), the second-best winning percentage this century and third-most wins (Skyline has 77).
Pine View and Timpview lead the state in scoring offense in all classifications - Pine View averaging 41.5 points per game and Timpview averaging 41.3. However, Timpview leads the state in scoring defense allowing just 7.1 ppg and in winning margin, 34.2 ppg. PV is second in winning margin, 29.2 ppg.
Coaches:
Ray Hosner is 68-16 (.810) in seven seasons at Pine View. Hosner is 12-5 (.706) in the playoffs and 0-2 in championships.
Timpview's Louis Wong is 32-4 (.889) in his third year and is 8-1 (.889) in playoff games with one title.

In addition, this game of high scoring offenses features the top two PAT kickers this season, Timpview's Cameron Shumway, who has booted 64, and Pine View's Michael Stephenson, who has kicked 57.
