Softball: A breakdown of 3A semifinals
The biggest surprise win on Thursday was Wasatch beating Juan Diego, a team that has some of the best talent in the state. But the big surprise wasn't just in the win, it was the margin of victory.

Wasatch dominated 8-0.

And that was with Brie Dimond pitching. If you don't know about Dimond, the senior ace is the Region 8 MVP and is headed to the College of Southern Idaho in the fall.

The win also illustrates that Region 10 teams are no joke, considering two of them -- the other being Uintah -- are still playing in the winners' bracket of the Class 3A state tournament, in addition to Union having the opportunity to come back into state contention through the losers' bracket. Region 8 also has three teams alive in the tournament, but all of them -- Juan Diego, North Sanpete and Emery -- are in the consolation rounds.

You know what it means for the two Region 10 teams in the winners' bracket? Wasatch and Uintah could meet each other Friday for a chance to play in the state title game.
